Aglio Rossa

Aglio Rossa - Out of Stock - Medium sized bulbs with a white outer wrapper and bright red skin on the inner cloves. Medium spiciness and robust flavor. This variety has the best storage life, lasting well into the spring. A creole type garlic from the outskirts of Sulmona in the L’Aquila province of Abruzzo region in central Italy. Approximately 6 bulbs per pound, 8 plantable cloves per bulb.

Basque Turban

Basque Turban - Out of Stock - A large variety, with mostly big cloves surrounding a few smaller ones in the center. The flavor is exceptional - medium spicy with a mellow aftertaste. An early maturing variety that we got from the folks at Garlicana - originally from a Basque farmer in the small town of Corella in the autonomous province of Navarre (Nafarroa), Spain. Approximately 5 bulbs per pound, 9 plantable cloves per bulb.

Bzenec

Bzenec - Out of Stock - Small to medium sized bulbs with a beautiful purple outer skin. The medium spiciness dissipates quickly leaving an earthy, nutty flavor. Very good storage, and late to mature hardneck variety from the Czech republic. Approximately 8 bulbs per pound, 9 plantable cloves per bulb.

Inchelium Red

Inchelium Red - Out of Stock - A mid-season garlic which forms extra large heads with big outer cloves and smaller inner cloves. A softneck artichoke type which makes it good for braiding. The flavor is very classic with medium heat. Discovered at the Colville Indian reservation in Washington. Approximately 5 bulbs per pound, 8 plantable cloves per bulb.

Khabar

Khabar - Out of Stock - One of the spiciest garlics that we offer Khabar has a white outer wrapper with reddish-bronze covering of the perfectly sized cloves. Late to mature, it has a good storage capacity and produces scapes during the early spring. A hard-neck variety from the Russian coast of Siberia, Khabarovsk. Approximately 8 bulbs per pound, 7 plantable cloves per bulb

Purple Glazer

Purple Glazer - Out of Stock - Medium sized heads have a beautiful purple wrapper and perfect cloves that are easy to peel. Spicy and nutty flavor. This is a hard-neck variety which will produce scapes during the growing season. From Garlicana -The variety originates from Mchadijvari, Republic of Georgia, north of the capital T’blisi, near the border with South Ossetia. Approximately 8 bulbs per pound, 9 plantable cloves per bulb.

Sicilian Italian

Sicialian Italian – Out of Stock - A classic white skin artichoke type garlic from Italy. We were given this variety by a local farmer, Poul Palmer, “the Garlic Guy” and are not sure of its origins. Great flavor, very spicy! Soft-neck variety with big outer cloves and smaller inner ones. Approximately 7 bulbs per pound, 6 plantable cloves per bulb.

Ver Veist

Ver Veist - Out of Stock - Exceptional flavor and high oil content. This variety will produce scapes during the growing season, and has a hard neck. It matures early and does not store as well as some of the others so should be eaten first. We acquired this from the folks at Garlicana. It originally came from the Seed Savers Exchange collection but was erroneously labeled - where it came from is a guessing game. “Ver veist” means “who knows?” in Yiddish. Approximately 9 bulbs per pound, 8 plantable cloves per bulb.

Tibet - Out of Stock- A super spicy variety that is the last one to mature in the field and keeps long into the winter as well. Beautiful blue-green leaves with tender scapes in spring. Firm texture and strong flavor. Approximately 7 bulbs per pound, 6 plantable cloves per bulb.

Thai Fire – Out of Stock - Beautiful hard neck garlic with purple skin. It has chunky, firm cloves and full flavor on the spicy side. Very good storage and easy to peel. The plants are vibrant and beautiful with very lovely scapes in spring. This was gifted to us from a customer at the farmers market (Brian at Never Enough Dirt.) Approximately 5 bulbs per pound, 8 plantable cloves per bulb.
